Gong and sound alchemist Gintare and her partner, artist and designer Mario are residents of Mallorca´s famous art village, Deia. Nestled in the Tramuntana Mountain range on the west coast of the island, this beautiful village boasts epic coastline views and pretty sandstone houses precariously stacked atop each other.
Spend a day exploring the secret calas by car or wander the winding alleys, popping in and out of art galleries, ceramic studios and cafes. At night, the village comes alive with fantastic eateries and live music.
We followed Gintare and Mario on a morning road trip around the area, taking in the scenery and stopping for freshly squeezed juices.
Gintare tells us her favourite places to shop and eat in Deia..
1. Home - eating out in Deia is definitely a treat for us so cooking at home is our favourite way to spend a evening.
2. De Monio Vegetarian Cafe & Shop - for coffee, lunch and home flourishes
3. Son Mico - their homemade cakes are amazing!
4. Obsolete - this pretty store in our neighbouring village of Valldemossa stocks antiques and unique pieces of furniture and deco. I also hold some of my sound sessions here and the acoustics are incredible.
5. Casta Rosa Tea Shop - if you love teas then pop in here for a huge range of delicious teas, sip on a cup and take some home
